Lawyer Collin Rosell, secretary to Mayor Michael Rama, announced this after the conduct of the exam for 3,000 contractual employees whose contract would expire on Saturday, December 31.
Rosell said the examination is just one the criteria that will be based upon by the offices of the mayor and vice mayor in renewing the contract of thousands of employees under the Sangguniang Panlungsod or the City Council.
The lawyer said it was necessary that by the start of 2023, they can already determine how many employees they can accommodate based on the budget allocation for personnel services.
Currently, the Cebu City Government has around 7,000 employees, including the job order workers.
The result of the examination will be known before work will resume after the New Year. (PAC, TPT)
